Wikipedia

  • Can be accurate, anyone can edit so some info can be false
  • Newer entries are going to be less refined and less factual
  • Due to the easiness of editing, strong, bias viewpoint can occur that distort the truth
  • Unacceptable for all academic institutions
  • Check sources
  • Wikipedia should be used as a starting point
  • Wikipedia should be used carefully, not copied as points can be false
Pros
  1. Quick information
  2. A lot of information on subjects
  3. Millions of subjects
  4. Large amount of editors and writers - kept up to date, quick corrections etc.
  5. Hyperlinks are useful to understand subjects because smaller points can be expand
Cons
  1. Easy to edit so there is vandalism, can be when there is a big edit going on
  2. Subtle vandalism can be missed by editors
  3. Some pages are incomplete or are not good quality
  4. Editors and writers sometimes do not give their sources

The first commercially successful web browser was created by Marc Andreessen and was called Mosaic

Goal Line Technology in the Barclays Premier League should be included because I find it unfair that a goal could be given even if it did not go in or a goal disallowed to due to a bad decision. Other camera technology should be included as well for example a camera to check offsides.
